Kazakhstan appoints new defense minister

Aidos Myrzakhmetov has been appointed Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Qazinform News Agency learned from the Akorda press service.
"By a presidential decree, Aidos Myrzakhmetov has been appointed Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan; he was relieved of his previous post," a press release from Akorda reads.
Earlier, by a decree of the Head of State, Dauren Kossanov had been relieved of his duties of the Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan.
On September 26, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree to establish a commission for a comprehensive inspection of the Defense Ministry of Kazakhstan, after the tragedy on the Caspian Sea, which led to the deaths of 14 servicemen.
