Such medical institutions will be subject to strict licensing requirements, mandatory reporting, and enhanced government oversight, as transplant procedures will be classified as high-risk activities.

Under a decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev aimed at expanding the authority of private healthcare providers, the Ministry of Health will develop unified standards for pre-operative examinations, including genetic testing, and establish rules for post-surgery patient recovery.

If harm is caused to a patient’s life or health, the clinic will bear full responsibility for compensation.

Information on patients and donors will also be submitted to the Ministry of Health.

According to the decree, Uzbekistan plans to increase the private sector’s share in healthcare services to 30% by 2030 in an effort to improve service quality and expand public access to medical care.

Earlier, Qazinform reported that that organ transplants number rose in Almaty.
