Tokayev expresses condolences to Swiss President over ski resort tragedy
The Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, extended his deepest condolences to the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, over the tragic fire at the Crans-Montana ski resort, which resulted in numerous casualties, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing Akorda.
The President of Kazakhstan offered words of support to the families of the victims and those injured, expressing solidarity with the people of Switzerland in this moment of grief.
As previously reported, an explosion at a Swiss ski resort left dozens dead and around 100 others injured. Those injured in the blast and subsequent fire suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospitals in Sion, capital of Valais canton, as well as in other cities, Valais Canton Police Chief Frederic Giesler said at a press conference.
