Teen magician sets Guinness World Record with 28 tricks in one minute
At just 15, Cillian O’Connor from County Meath, Ireland, has transformed a childhood passion into a remarkable achievement by securing a place in the Guinness World Records, reports a Kazinform News Agency correspondent, citing guinnessworldrecords.com.

The young magician now holds the title for the most magic tricks performed in one minute (under 16), astonishing audiences with his skill and creativity. During his record-breaking attempt, Cillian performed 28 tricks in just 60 seconds; including making pencils disappear and a wand materialize from thin air.
Speaking about his achievement, Cillian said, “To achieve my goal, I researched the current record and different techniques that might work.” His performance also included a colorful trick where he changed the hue of two pieces of silk fabric, all with a calm confidence that left even seasoned magicians in awe.
For Cillian, breaking the record was more than just a personal triumph - it was the fulfillment of a dream. “Being in the book was always a dream of mine,” he explained. “I now feel like I am a part of history - something I can share with my kids someday.”
Cillian’s passion for magic began when his uncle showed him a simple trick at the age of seven. However, it wasn’t until he saw fellow magician Issy Simpson on Britain’s Got Talent that his enthusiasm truly blossomed.
“Issy was only eight at the time, the same age as me,” Cillian recalls. Inspired by her performance, he dove headfirst into the world of magic, improving his skills and learning new tricks. Today, his favorite is a card trick called Triumph by legendary magician Dai Vernon.
Magic has had a profound impact on Cillian’s life, not just as a hobby, but as a tool for personal growth. Diagnosed with autism, Cillian has been open about how magic has helped him improve his social skills.
“Magic has allowed me to interact more with people,” he said. “Before, I knew what to say but didn’t quite know how to say it. Now, I use the magic to do the talking for me.”
Cillian’s journey to becoming a record-holder wasn’t without challenges. He also has dyspraxia, a condition that affects coordination, but he adapted his tricks to suit his abilities.
“Dyspraxia put me at a disadvantage with the choice of tricks I could use, but that didn’t stop me,” he explained.
With this record under his belt, Cillian is already looking ahead to future challenges.
“I hope my story inspires other kids to dream big and not be afraid to chase their own Guinness World Records title”.
