Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomes President Jakov Milatović at Palace of Independence
An official welcoming ceremony was held at the Palace of Independence for President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit, Qazinform News Agency reports.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev personally greeted the distinguished guest.
An honor guard lined the hall, and the leaders introduced their delegations.
The national anthems of both countries were performed.
The Presidents walked along the carpet to the State Flag of Kazakhstan before beginning talks in a restricted format.
It was earlier reported, the heads of state are expecetd to discuss prospects for further strengthening the political dialogue between the two countries, as well as issues of expanding trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
Recall that the Head of State met Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in September 2025. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan views Montenegro as an important partner in the Balkan region.
In 2026, the countries will mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Throughout these years, the two countries have built constructive relations based on the ties of friendship and mutual understanding.
