Jackie Chan in Kazakhstan: Filming of Armour of God 4: Ultimatum begins in Mangistau
Filming for the international project Armour of God 4: Ultimatum starring Jackie Chan kicked off in Mangistau region, Kazakhstan. The first scenes were shot against the backdrop of the region’s unique natural landscapes, Qazinform News Agency reports.
One of the main filming locations is the world‑famous Bozzhyra tract, where a crew of 35 worked from June 7 to 12.
The Mangystau regional administration, led by governor Nurdaulet Kilybay, welcomed the creative team and provided full support for the project.
Governor Kilybay emphasized Mangistau’s competitive advantages for large‑scale film projects, highlighting opportunities to promote cultural heritage, creative economy, and tourism.
The project is a major event for Kazakhstan’s film industry and will showcase the country’s natural and historical landmarks to a global audience.
Featuring Mangistau’s landscapes in an international film is expected to boost tourism, attract investment, and strengthen the region’s image in the international arena.
Filming is scheduled to be completed this year, with the movie set for release in February 2027.
The Armour of God team visited Aktau last November to explore locations, and Mangistau was officially confirmed in December.
As written before, the fourth installment of the legendary Armour of God action franchise, titled Armour of God: Ultimatum and starring Jackie Chan, will also be filmed in Kaskelen town, Almaty region, Kazakhstan.
