Blast at Kazzinc: Families of deceased to be paid 10-year salary compensation

Kazzinc has revealed support measures for the families of workers who died in the explosion in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Qazinform News Agency reports.

According to the company, the relatives of two deceased employees will receive compensation equal to ten years of their salary.

"All expenses related to the funerals of Olzhas Ramazanov and Yerzhan Kamaliyev will be fully covered by the company," Kazzinc said in a press release.

The company also announced long-term support for the families.

"The company also commits to paying for the higher education of the deceased workers' children," the press service clarified.

Support has also been arranged for injured workers who are undergoing treatment.

"All necessary medical care and medications are being provided to those injured. In addition, they will continue to receive their full salary for the duration of their treatment," the company added.

As it was reported, the accident occurred on the morning of May 5. Environmental specialists have launched urgent air quality measurements.

As a result of the incident, two employees were killed and five others were injured. Doctors revealed the condition of those injured. The explosion at Kazzinc caused a workshop collapse, with 32 people working in the affected area.

The causes of the incident are under investigation.
