Almaty residents warned of anti-terrorist drills
The Anti-Terrorist Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan is holding anti-terrorist exercises in Almaty on October 31, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the press service of the city counter-terrorism operative staff.

“The objective of the exercise is to evaluate the preparedness of law enforcement and special agencies to respond to terrorist threats. The training objectives are designed to enhance the capacity to suppress terrorist acts at vulnerable targets. It should be noted that during the exercise period, certain restrictive measures will be in place,” as stated by the headquarters.
The Almaty counter-terrorism operative staff urges citizens to understand the forthcoming counter-terrorism measures. These may include temporary restrictions on the movement of transport and population.
“The residents and guests of the city are requested to comply with the security measures and fulfill the legal requirements of the relevant state bodies,” the message reads.
