«Women, Peace and Security» int'l conference kicks off in Almaty
ALMATY. November 11. KAZINFORM - Today Almaty is hosting an international conference themed "Women, Peace and Security: the obligation of countries and their effective implementation in the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian regions".
The organizers of the forum are the "UN Women" and the OSCE. The event involved 115 women from 12 countries who are the representatives of governments, parliaments, non-governmental organizations of Central Asia, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and the Afghanistan, leading regional experts. Among the honored guests are women who have direct experience of conflict resolution in Georgia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Following the conference there will be adopted a document summarizing the international experience and offering practical advice to countries which are embarking on the development of national policies and action plans for the implementation of the commitments of specific resolutions of the UN Security Council on "Women, Peace and Security".
