PM Bektenov orders timely completion of Almaty TPP-3 construction
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has instructed the head of Samruk-Energo to ensure the timely completion of the construction of the Thermal Power Plant - 3 in Almaty, Qazinform News Agency reports.
“As for TPP-3 construction in Almaty, according to the information I have received, there are cases of missed deadlines. You remember that everything must be completed on time. This is your personal responsibility,” Bektenov said during a government meeting.
Earlier, Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov inspected the progress of strategic projects to switch the Almaty energy hub to gas during a working visit. The situation at the TPP-3 construction site drew strong criticism from the minister.
He noted delays in the schedule, naming weak organization by the general contractor as the main reason for the lag.
Earlier, it was reported that the Government of Kazakhstan had allocated approximately 1.8 billion tenge to repair the heat supply system in the town of Ridder, located in the East Kazakhstan region.
