Manzambi brace leads Switzerland to 4-1 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina at World Cup
Switzerland strengthened its standing in Group B of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a convincing 4-1 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qazinform News Agency reports.
The match at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, remained scoreless for much of the game before Switzerland opened the scoring in the 74th minute through forward Johan Manzambi.
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s starting lineup included midfielder Ivan Basic, who plays for FC Astana in Kazakhstan. Basic was substituted in the 63rd minute.
The Bosnian side's task grew even more difficult in the 80th minute, when defender Tarik Muharemovic was sent off. Switzerland quickly capitalised on its numerical advantage, with Ruben Vargas doubling the lead four minutes later.
Manzambi struck again in the 90th minute to complete his brace. Ermin Mahmic pulled one back for Bosnia and Herzegovina in stoppage time, but Granit Xhaka sealed the final score with a penalty in the 97th minute, securing Switzerland’s victory.

Following the match, Switzerland moves to the top of Group B with four points from two matches, while Bosnia and Herzegovina has one point.
On June 24, the final round of Group B fixtures will see Switzerland face Canada, while Bosnia and Herzegovina will take on Qatar.
