South Africa snatch late draw against Czechia at World Cup
South Africa secured a crucial late draw against Czechia in their second Group A match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Qazinform News Agency reports.
The match ended 1-1 after South Africa struck late to cancel out an early Czech lead.
Czechia took the lead just six minutes into the game, with Michal Sadilek finding the net with a well-placed finish. The Europeans held their narrow advantage for most of the match.
However, South Africa fought back in the closing stages. In the 83rd minute, Teboho Mokoena converted a penalty to level the score, securing a valuable draw for his team.
