LEGO unveils 8,278-piece “The Lord of the Rings” set

The LEGO Group has introduced a new collector’s set based on “The Lord of the Rings” universe, Qazinform News Agency reports.

The new LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith set marks the 25th anniversary of “The Lord of the Rings” film franchise and recreates the iconic White City of Gondor from Middle-earth.

The construction set consists of 8,278 pieces and has become one of the largest LEGO sets inspired by “The Lord of the Rings.”

The set includes 10 minifigures and a Shadowfax horse figure. Characters featured include Gandalf the White, Aragorn as King Elessar, Faramir, Denethor, Peregrin Took, Arwen and Soldiers of Gondor.

According to LEGO, the set was designed as a collectible display model for adult fans of the franchise and collectors. The finished structure stands more than 59 centimeters tall.

LEGO Insiders members will receive early access to the set starting June 1, while the global release is scheduled for June 4, 2026. The set will retail for $649.99. Customers who purchase the set during the first week of sales will also receive the Grond battering ram set from “The Lord of the Rings” as a Gift with Purchase.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that the LEGO Group also unveiled eight new sets based on the Harry Potter universe to mark the franchise’s 25th anniversary.
