Kazakhstan and Montenegro set to expand bilateral relations

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović held talks in restricted attendance in Astana, Qazinform News Agency learnt from the Akorda press service.

The Head of State expressed confidence the visit of Jakov Milatović would give a new impetus to bilateral relations.

He noted that many Kazakh citizens travel to Montenegro and return with positive impressions.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Montenegro on the 20th anniversary of its independence, highlighting the good relations established over the years.

He pointed out the large business delegation accompanying Jakov Milatović as a sign of Montenegro’s intention to strengthen economic ties.

In his turn, the President of Montenegro thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the invitation and stressed the importance of this first official visit.

President Milatović said the visit demonstrates that relations are reaching a higher level of cooperation.

He arrived with representatives of Montenegrin business, noting that the chambers of commerce of both countries will hold a business forum and sign several memorandums.

He underlined Montenegro’s popularity among Kazakh tourists and expressed interest in expanding ties not only in politics but also in economic partnership.

Earlier, an official welcoming ceremony was held at the Palace of Independence for President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit.
