The full-length film is being shot in the French capital and is being produced by Kazakhstan’s largest film company, Tiger Films, with the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in France and the Embassy of France in Kazakhstan.

The two diplomatic missions are providing assistance and support to the project as part of efforts to strengthen cultural and cinematographic cooperation between Kazakhstan and France.

The project brings together filmmakers from both countries and is intended to create new opportunities for international cooperation while serving as a platform for cultural dialogue between Kazakhstan and France.

Popular Kazakhstani actors Zhasulan Kopbergen, Aruzhan Timur, and Azamat Satybaldy are among the cast, alongside other well-known performers.

One of the project’s distinctive features is its international production team. Kazakh, French and English are spoken on set, while professionals from both Kazakhstan and France are working on the film.

Yerlan Bukharbayev, a film partner and representative of Kinopark Theatres, said the international composition of the production team makes the project particularly unique.

“This is the most international film set I have ever worked on. Professionals from Kazakhstan and France have come together here, while the atmosphere of Paris itself has become a full-fledged character in our story,” he said.

'Jamilya in Paris' is described as a dramedy, with its premiere scheduled for spring 2027.

The filmmakers hope the film will appeal not only to Kazakhstani audiences but also to French viewers by combining a Kazakhstani story, a European setting and universal human themes.

The project marks an important step for Kazakhstan’s film industry, with shooting in Paris opening a new chapter in international cinematographic cooperation and highlighting the growing presence of Kazakhstani cinema beyond the domestic market.
