CIS Security Council Secretaries eye countermeasures against international terrorism in Moscow
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Secretary of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan and interim Secretary of the Security Council Adilbek Dzhaksybekov has participated in a meeting of the CIS Security Council Secretaries, Kazinform has learned from the Akorda's press service.
The meeting was held in Moscow on the invitation of the Russian side. At the meeting, participants exchanged views on assessment of challenges and threats to regional security, countermeasures against international terrorism and religious extremism as well as interaction in the sphere of international information security. Mr. Dzhaksybekov paid special attention to the measures taken by relevant authorities in Kazakhstan to counteract terrorism and extremism and stop illegal drug trafficking. According to the Kazakh Secretary of State, it is important to hold joint activities on a regular basis in line with the policy documents adopted by the CIS, CSTO and SCO. While in Moscow, Mr. Dzhaksybekov also met with his counterpart Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev. The sides debated a wide range of issues relating to the bilateral cooperation in the sphere of security and exchanged views on the relevant topics of international agenda. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Russia Marat Tazhin attended the meeting as well.
