The President of Montenegro noted that his current visit to Kazakhstan holds special significance, as it takes place in the year marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

“I still vividly remember our fruitful discussion that took place last year during the United Nations General Assembly, when we actually agreed on my visit to Kazakhstan. This visit is also highly symbolic, as it takes place in the year, when we mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries,” said Jakov Milatović.

He said he had arrived in Astana with a large business delegation and noted that the chambers of commerce of Kazakhstan and Montenegro plan to sign a memorandum of mutual understanding.

“ I arrived with a group of business representatives from Montenegro. I believe that our Chamber of Commerce, which was responsible for this part of the visit, also wanted to ensure that we fill this political visit with real content. That is why today we will sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the two chambers of commerce, which I hope will open the door to a closer economic cooperation between our two countries,” said Milatović.

Earlier, an official welcoming ceremony was held at the Palace of Independence for President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit.  Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Jakov Milatović held talks in restricted attendance.

As part of the official visit of the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović to Astana, the TV and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Radio and Television of Montenegro (Radio-televizija Crne Gore, RTCG) have entered into a memorandum of mutual understanding and cooperation
