Central Asia eyes organic soybean cultivation with Brazil’s involvement
Kazakh and Brazilian companies are discussing the launch of new agricultural projects, including the cultivation of organic soybeans in the steppes of Central Asia. This was announced by Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira at the Business Forum in Astana, Qazinform News Agency reports.
According to Vieira, Brazil is keen on expanding cooperation with Kazakhstan in agriculture and is ready to join the modernization of the country's agricultural sector.
"Kazakh and Brazilian farms are already exploring new and interesting projects. These include, for example, the cultivation of organic soybeans in the steppes of Central Asia, as well as the introduction of advanced animal embryo farming technologies in Kazakhstan," the Brazilian Foreign Minister noted.
He emphasized that Brazil is also interested in expanding fertilizer trade with Kazakhstan.
"We fully support Kazakhstan’s ambition to become the hub of Central Asian agriculture, to safeguard regional food security, and to expand exports to markets across the globe.”," Vieira stated.
As reported before, Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira arrived in Astana on an official visit and held talks with his Kazakh counterpart Yermek Kosherbayev.
Minister Kosherbayev announced that Kazakhstan and Brazil intend to increase trade turnover to $1 billion.
