According to Kosherbayev, mutual trade between Kazakhstan and Brazil has reached $295 million in 2025.

"Bilateral trade turnover is showing steady positive dynamics. In 2025, it reached $295 million. Compared to last year, trade turnover in January-March alone has already approached $100 million. This demonstrates continued growth. Therefore, we have very good opportunities to increase it to $1 billion in the future," the minister stated at a press briefing.

He emphasized that Kazakhstan and Brazil have significant potential for expanding cooperation in industry, agriculture, energy, and investment. Fertilizers represent a major share of trade, with the Kazakh company KazAzot actively cooperating with the Brazilian side.

Kosherbayev noted that Kazakhstani entrepreneurs, quasi-state companies, and government agencies are holding talks with a Brazilian delegation as part of the Business Forum organized during Vieira’s visit to Astana.

For this purpose, Kazakhstan, together with the Brazilian Foreign Minister’s delegation, visited leading Brazilian companies such as WEG, Embraer, and Petrobras.

"Previously, Air Astana actively operated Embraer aircraft. The policy has changed somewhat now, but negotiations must not be interrupted. The relevant government bodies and quasi-state companies continue discussions with Embraer. It is possible that certain results may be achieved," Kosherbayev noted.

He also reported that the Brazilian oil and gas giant Petrobras is in talks with KazMunayGas on cooperation in the oil sector.

Earlier, Qazinform reported that Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira had arrived in Astana on an official visit.
