According to the press service of the city maslikhat, the ultimate goal of the project is to implement a unified platform for the integration of the city's video surveillance camerasThe deployment of artificial intelligence algorithms will help detect crowds of people, analyze their behavior, identify fights, suspicious objects, track individuals and vehicles, and detect fire and smoke.

Additionally, it is planned to allocate 16.3 billion tenge for digital projects development in Almaty in 2025.

“In 2025, the new budget will provide funding for the maintenance of 6,000 video cameras in locations with a high concentration of people, including Sergek hardware-software complex. The deployment of these cameras has resulted in a 17% reduction in traffic accidents in the city, along with a 40% decrease in the number of fatalities. To date, 1,641 such complexes operate in the city. More than three million violations were recorded in Almaty, resulting in the recovery of over 18.7 billion tenge for the city budget in the first nine months of this year,” the maslikhat stated.

New types of video analytics are planned to be launched next year. These are designed to address the tasks of public utilities and city services, including to identify the areas where rubbish is dumped, fil rubbish bins, determine the level of waterlogging of public spaces and streets, detect stray animals, and other similar tasks.
