Kazakh young musicians shine at Carnegie Hall

A group of young performers from Kazakhstan became laureates of the New York International Competition for Performing Arts 2026, held in New York, a Qazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

The Kazakh musicians performed at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall, one of the world’s most prestigious concert venues.

This opportunity came through a special prize established by pianist and Steinway Artist Kadisha Onalbayeva, a partner of the competition.

More than 50 musicians from around the world took part in the contest.

Anvar Massimov (piano), Ameli Makhambetzhan (violin), Evelina Azmzhanova (violin), Nurazhan Arlankhanuly (violin), Salima Zhakupova (clarinet), and Daniel Azizkhanov (saxophone) were awarded.

Their success reflects years of preparation, dedication, and the strength of Kazakhstan’s musical education system. Performing at Carnegie Hall is a milestone that underscores the international recognition of Kazakhstan’s young talents.

Recently, singer Rukhiya Baidukenova and Chinese artist Zhang Hexuan presented the Silk Way Star anthem at the V Media Innovation Forum in Chongqing.

To note, Kazakh schoolchildren win 8 medals at Al-Khwarizmi International Olympiad.
