XDS Astana’s Mike Teunissen 4th in GC at Renewi Tour
XDS Astana Team rider Mike Teunissen finished third in the sprint on the final stage of the UCI WorldTour Renewi Tour, securing fourth place in the final General Classification, Qazinform News Agency cites the team's press service.
For Teunissen, this is the best GC result of his career in a WorldTour stage race, while for XDS Astana Team it is the team's best result at the Renewi Tour since 2014.
I think we can be happy with the result we achieved at the Renewi Tour this week. For me, this is the best overall result of my career in a WorldTour stage race, so it’s a very good result. I felt good coming into the race, but unfortunately, I got a little bit sick during the week. However, the team did everything possible to support me, and in the end ,we achieved a strong result in the General Classification. Thanks to all the guys for their support. Second place in Hamburg and fourth place today are very encouraging results, and they show that everything is going in the right direction. They also show that my decision to stay with the team for another two years is the right one, both for me and for the team. I feel that I still have the strength, desire and motivation to continue fighting at the highest level, so we keep working, said Mike Teunissen.
