XDS Astana's Aaron Gate takes second in individual time trial at New Zealand National Championships
XDS Astana Team rider Aaron Gate took second place in the individual time trial at the New Zealand National Championships started today in Timaru. For the distance of 37.4 km Gate spent 48 minutes and 3 seconds, 34 seconds more than the winner Finn Fished-Black, Kazinform News Agency cites the team's press service.

Aaron Gate, the winner of this discipline back in 2021 and 2023, repeated his result of the last year when he also finished second.
“Podium place is bittersweet in the time trial today. Of course, you always want to win, especially when a national jersey is on the line. But although I did perform better than last year, I couldn't do anything more to rival the blistering ride by Finn Fisher-Black today, as a deserving winner. I am very happy with how fast, and how comfortable I felt on the new X-LAB TT bike through, especially in the very testing conditions of wind and rain today. Now I shift my focus back to the road race, where defending my national title is my main goal of the week”, said Aaron Gate.
