Vice Minister of Transport: Railway lines to be repaired by 2029
Vice Minister of Transport Maksat Kaliakparov stated that some 11,000 km of railway tracks will be repaired in Kazakhstan by 2029 at the Netherlands-Kazakhstan Business Council held in Astana, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

“Kazakhstan, situated at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, has historically served as a vital transportation hub. The country is engaged in ongoing efforts to enhance its transportation infrastructure, encompassing railways, seaports, airports, and highways. These developments are regarded as pivotal components of the global logistics system,” the Vice Minister highlighted.
As part of these efforts, 136 projects are currently underway in the transport and logistics sector, of which 69 are in progress and 67 show promise of success.
“In order to increase the volume of transit traffic by railway, 1.3 thousand km of new railway lines are currently under construction, with completion scheduled for 2027. Additionally, it is projected that 11,000 km of railway lines will undergo repairs by 2029,” he added.
