After casting his ballot in the Qurultay elections, the Head of State answered questions from journalists. Tokayev said the government had been working diligently and efficiently, fulfilling the tasks set by the President. He emphasized that global competition was intensifying and markets posed new challenges that required timely responses.

“Therefore, of course, the Government must resign. There will be some changes in its composition. But let me be frank with you on this, on what can be called the sacred day of the Qurultay elections:  there are no grounds to worry about the Government’s work or, moreover, to be dissatisfied with it. Both ministers and the Prime Minister are making efforts,” Tokayev said.

At the same time, the President underlined that personnel changes were always inevitable, as they gave new strength to the Government.

“Modernization is a very complex process that needs a powerful new impetus. The Government plays a very important role in this process,” he concluded.

Earlier, the Head of State outlined his expectations from new Qurultay.
