President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who had arrived on an official visit to Brussels, met with citizens of Kazakhstan currently studying or working in Belgium, Qazinform News Agency learned from the Akorda press service.
During the meeting, the Head of State congratulated compatriots on the adoption of the new Constitution.
“At the nationwide referendum, our people came together to vote in favor of the Constitution. This landmark document will take effect on July 1. As the Basic Law, it will serve as the main guide for our people. I congratulate you on the adoption of the new Constitution,” said the President
Tokayev expressed support for the compatriots studying and working abroad.

“Our country needs such educated, progressive, and intellectual youth as you. Wherever I am, I always support young people. And this is not just words. Supporting youth is an integral part of the state’s long-term policy. Young Kazakhstani citizens study and work in different countries of the world. As President, I support this. Because wherever you are, you remain Kazakhs. We must be an Advanced and Fair country. To build such a state, we all need to unite and work selflessly,” he said.

The Head of State emphasized that in the new Constitution, the development of education, science, and innovation is defined as a strategic priority of the state. He also encouraged young people to learn foreign languages.
Kazakhstani citizens shared their achievements in work and study, as well as their future plans. For instance, third-year KU Leuven student Alim-Seri Makhambetali spoke about the activities of the Association of Kazakhstani Students in Belgium, while Aruzhan Bolatbekova told the President about the Kazakh Speaking Club in Brussels.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President wished success to students and all citizens of Kazakhstan living in Belgium.
