Three Almaty residents begin their 45-day cycling marathon around country

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Today, a 45-day marathon around Kazakhstan began in Almaty. Three amateur cyclists are the only participants of the marathon.
"We decided to go along several regions of Kazakhstan - Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Pavlodar and Akmola regions. We will return to Almaty from Astana about July 10. The length of the route is 3.2 thousand kilometers," one of the marathon participants Sarsen Kassymov told.
Another two participants are first year students Kanat Zhetkerbayev and Dauletkeldy Ispulatov.
According to them, the purpose of the event is to promote cycling sport, active lifestyle and ecotourism among young people of Kazakhstan and other countries.
"We plan to cover about 300 kilometers every day then a day of rest. We have emergency kit, packed meat and tents," S. Kassymov noted.
