The dog’s owner, 56-year-old Murat Zhanpeisov, said Chelsea’s success is a result of careful training and years of dedication to breeding Tazy dogs, a family tradition he has continued since the 1980s.

Chelsea, just over one year old, is described as calm, friendly, and highly skilled at hunting. Ahead of the competition, he underwent intensive training to adapt to the show ring and to interact properly with other animals.

“Chelsea is very kind, and everyone loves him. He has a calm demeanor, but he is also an excellent hunter who truly enjoys it. His mother was also fearless in the hunt. Chelsea has a beautiful milky coat,” Zhanpeisov noted.

Serious show training for the owner began in 2020, when he joined the “Kansonar” association.

Even before traveling to Italy, Chelsea participated in exhibitions in Almaty and Astana. The owner began entering him in competitions at six months old.

A total of 15 Kazakh Tazy dogs represented Kazakhstan at the event in Bologna. Zhampesov emphasized that although the breed is not yet fully recognized internationally, Kazakhstan is actively pursuing global recognition.

For Murat Zhanpeisov, Chelsea’s success is not a personal victory but an achievement for the entire Kazakh nation.

“This is not just my dog – it belongs to the entire Kazakh nation. I cannot say it is only mine. I prepared it as the Tazy for the entire Kazakh nation. I am very happy about this victory – it is a joy for Kazakhstan. If there are more competitions ahead, we will definitely take part,” he added.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that Chelsea had earned the title of best junior male Tazy and had placed fourth in the global junior sighthound rankings.
