Tajikistan and Malaysia strengthen education ties

Tajikistan and Malaysia have agreed to expand cooperation in education and professional training following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Tajikistan’s Ministry of Education and Science and Malaysia’s International Cultural Communication Centre, Qazinform News Agency cites Khovar.

The agreement was signed during a meeting between Tajik Minister of Education and Science Rahim Saidzoda and Nisi Bai, secretary-general of the International Association for Transnational Education and chairman of Malaysia’s International Cultural Communication Centre. Zhang Zhi Hao, executive director of ITEA Jobs, and Benjamin Leong, deputy executive director, also attended the meeting.

According to Tajikistan’s Ministry of Education and Science, the memorandum establishes a legal and organizational framework for practical cooperation in several priority areas, including joint educational programs, teacher and specialist training, professional and managerial skills development, digital technologies, experience-sharing and joint projects.

The two sides discussed expanding academic exchanges for university faculty and students, establishing joint educational programs and centers, and promoting transnational education.

The agenda also included the potential introduction of dual-degree programs, short-term training and professional development courses, as well as joint scientific and educational events and research projects.

Officials further exchanged views on attracting foreign higher education institutions to Tajikistan and implementing international scholarship programs.

Another area of cooperation will focus on developing modern educational and innovation laboratories in STEM, artificial intelligence, educational technologies and vocational education.
