Speaker of Russian State Duma S. Naryshkin to speak at int’l conference in Astana

"During the conference, which will be held on the initiative of the Majilis of the Parliament, attendees will discuss foreign policy initiatives of Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev, legislative support and activation of parliamentary diplomacy in the light of the integration processes in the Eurasian space", the statement reads. Along with Kazakh deputies the representative forum will be attended by parliamentarians from Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, as well as reps of international organizations, professionals and experts in the field of economic integration. It is expected that the speakers of both Chambers of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and Kabibulla Dzhakupov, will make speeches at the event. Sergey Naryshkin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Kazakhstan Guido Hertz and UN Resident Coordinator in Kazakhstan Stephen Tula will also report at the conference. NOTE: December 10, 2011 the Parliament of Kazakhstan adopted the law establishing the national holiday - Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is celebrated every year on 1 December. This day in 1991, Nursultan Nazarbayev, was elected President of Kazakhstan.
