Music played a central role in the ceremony, beginning with a performance by the Mexican rock band Maná, whose rendition of the popular song “Oye Mi Amor” drew a strong response from the audience. Venezuelan singer Danny Ocean followed, and Mexican group Los Ángeles Azules and singer Belinda performed together, further enhancing the festive atmosphere inside the stadium.

Colombian artist J Balvin also appeared during the show, paying tribute to Mexican cultural icon Germán Valdés, known as “Tin Tan,” with a performance inspired by the pachuco style associated with the actor and comedian.

The ceremony reached its climax with the appearance of Colombian superstar Shakira, who performed the tournament’s official anthem amid a dazzling display of fireworks, lights and visual effects. Fans joined in singing as the stadium celebrated the opening of the month-long competition.

The event concluded with a colorful showcase of Mexican culture and traditions, officially launching the FIFA World Cup 2026 and welcoming teams and supporters from around the world.

The tournament, jointly hosted by Mexico, the United States, and Canada, is expected to be the largest World Cup in history, with 48 national teams competing across North America.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, FIFA had unveiled an 18-track album featuring artists from around the world, including Shakira, The Rolling Stones, and IShowSpeed.
