Seven party leaders face off in final debates on 24KZ TV Channel

The final televised debates featuring leaders of all seven political parties have kicked off live on the 24KZ TV Channel ahead of the Qurultay elections, Qazinform News Agency reports.

The main theme of the discussion is "From Economic Growth to Citizens' Well-Being."

During the live broadcast, party leaders will present the key points of their election programs, discuss each other's positions, and propose solutions for the country's further socioeconomic development.

The participants include:

  • Aibek Dadebay – Chairman of the Adilet Party
  • Askhat Rakhimzhanov – Chairman of the Nationwide Social Democratic Party
  • Azamatkhan Amirtayev – Chairman of the Baytaq Party
  • Nursultan Shokanov – Chairman of the People's Party of Kazakhstan
  • Kairat Aituganov – Chairman of the Auyl Party
  • Daniya Yespayeva – Chairman of the Ak Zhol Democratic Party
  • Aidarbek Khojanazarov – Chairman of the Respublica Party

The debate format includes four rounds. Party leaders will have the opportunity to ask questions and respond to citizens' appeals received through the contact center and video messages. In the final part, speakers will address voters.

The speaking order, determined by a draw, is as follows: Respublica, Baytaq, Ak Zhol, Adilet, Auyl, the Nationwide Social Democratic Party, and the People's Party of Kazakhstan.

The elections are scheduled for August 23. 

Kazakhstanis are to elect 145 Qurultay deputies for five-year terms. The CEC has registered candidate lists from seven political parties.
