The two ships, the Grad Sviyazhsk and Uglich, are the first in the new Buyan-M class and are equipped with anti-ship and anti-aircraft missiles, RIA Novosti reports. The vessels began sea trials in August and completed four test launches of the Kalibr-NK missile, which can engage surface, underwater and coastal targets. The five countries bordering the Caspian Sea - Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Iran - all maintain a naval presence in the sea.
