Promotion of UNESCO ideals requires continuous efforts of its member states
"People are united by concern for peace in the world, striving for high standards, scientific progress and sustainable development. UNESCO activity aimed at strengthening inter-cultural, inter-civilizational and inter-regional dialogue is particularly close to Kazakhstan, a home to more than 130 ethnic groups," the welcoming speech reads.
"Kazakhstan applies forces to promote UNESCO values, principles of tolerance and ideas of new humanism. Kazakhstan has proposed a set of global initiatives, including the international year and international decade of rapprochement of cultures. Besides, Astana hosts the Congress of Leaders of World ad Traditional Religions."
"Today promotion of UNESCO ideals requires continuous efforts of its member states and full use of such a unique cooperation tool as the National Commissions for UNESCO. I'm confident that the first interregional meeting will be an important step in an effort to strengthen partnership," the message reads.
