Prime Minister inspects construction of Almaty satellite cities

ASTANA. October 25. KAZINFORM During his working trip to Almaty region Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov familiarized with the construction of Almaty satellite cities under G4 City project, primeminister.kz.

In the future, G4 City project will include the construction of four mini-cities along the route Almaty-Kapshagay. The unique location of the cities will unite them into a powerful, high-tech and modern conglomerate. The total construction area of the project is more than 8 hectares.

The development of infrastructure of the region was discussed during the Prime Minister's visit. Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan A.Zhumagaliyev reported on the implementation of projects for the construction of sections of the highways Almaty - Astana, Almaty - Ust-Kamenogorsk, Almaty - Khorgos, Big Almaty Ring Road, and Almaty bypass railway line.

Serik Akhmetov noted the strategic importance of these projects for increasing transit capacity and economic development of Kazakhstan.

He also stressed that "at the enlarged session of the Government the President of Kazakhstan rightly criticized the state and the quality of road construction."

According to the Prime Minister, a large-scale reconstruction of major highways is underway. The roads Astana-Ust-Kamenogorsk in the direction of Pavlodar, Astana-Karaganda in the direction of Almaty are under construction.

"In the world there are technologies that provide high-quality road construction, so the Transport Ministry should actively use these technologies," Akhmetov said.

He paid special attention to the development and strengthening of local infrastructure, construction of roads of regional importance.
