President’s TV and Radio Complex and CMG sign memorandum in the presence of leaders of Kazakhstan and China

On July 3, 2024, in Astana, within the framework of the state visit of the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the President’s TV and Radio Complex and the China Media Group (CMG) signed a Memorandum of cooperation and mutual understanding, reports Kazinform News Agency correspondent.

The signing ceremony took place at Akorda in the presence of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the President of China, Xi Jinping. The document was signed by the Director of the President’s TV and Radio Complex Raushan Kazhibayeva and the President of China Media Group, Shen Haixiong.

“The Memorandum signed today provides for the exchange of media content and mutual support in covering important events in the lives of the two countries,” noted Raushan Kazhibayeva.

Previously, the parties held the first joint teleconference “Astana-Beijing” between the Silk Way and CGTN channels, aired a talk show dedicated to the SCO Summit in Astana, and broadcast the documentary “Symphony of the Silk Road” on Silk Way TV channel. In the coming days, the President’s TV and Radio Complex documentary “Shanghai Spirit” is scheduled to be broadcast on CGTN.

According to Raushan Kazhibayeva, “the cooperation between the President’s TV and Radio Complex and CMG aligns with the spirit of the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China and aims to develop a centuries-old intercultural and intercivilizational dialogue.”
