President Tokayev backs Emine Erdoğan's Zero Waste environmental initiative
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted that the First Lady of Türkiye, Emine Erdoğan, initiated the landmark project "Zero Waste" under the United Nations and is undertaking significant efforts, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the Akorda press service.
"I want to especially note that this initiative resonates with the nationwide project 'Taza Qazaqstan' (Clean Kazakhstan) being implemented in our country. Therefore, we actively support such a significant endeavor by Mrs. Emine," stated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also said that he exchanged views with the Turkish leader on pressing global issues.
"In this challenging period, we expressed concern over the escalation of armed conflicts. Our discussion also addressed the erosion of international law and the diminishing influence of universal organizations. We reached a common conclusion on the need to strengthen the United Nations' role, ensure strict compliance with its resolutions and Charter, uphold the primacy of international law, and maintain a commitment to the principle of justice. We emphasized the necessity of resolving all disputes and conflicts peacefully through diplomatic negotiations. Kazakhstan and Türkiye will continue to cooperate within international organizations. We will join our efforts to ensure global stability and security," emphasized the President of Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev believes that strengthening the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Türkiye is a common goal and aspiration of both nations.
"We will expand our multifaceted cooperation, passing on to future generations our brotherhood, which has deep historical roots. I consider this a sacred duty of the two peoples. Dear Mr. President! Dear brother and friend! I sincerely thank you and the members of your delegation for the substantive talks. May our unity grow stronger! May the friendship between Kazakhstan and Türkiye be everlasting!" concluded the Head of State.
As reported earlier, Presidents Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed the Declaration on Eternal Friendship and Expanded Strategic Partnership between Kazakhstan and Türkiye.
