President of Montenegro visits Kazakhstan’s national museum in Astana

As part of his official visit to Kazakhstan, Montenegro’s President Jakov Milatović, accompanied by his wife Milena Milatović, visited the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan.

The guests were accompanied on the tour by Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information, Aida Balayeva.

“The guests were presented with the National Museum’s exhibitions, including the Hall of Stone Sculptures of the Great Steppe, which showcases the material and spiritual culture of the Turkic peoples, and the Gold Halls, which house unique archaeological discoveries and the world-famous ‘Golden Man’ from the Issyk burial mound. They also viewed reconstructions of outstanding burial complexes that provide insight into the ritual practices and worldview of ancient nomads. Among them is the Berel burial mound, featuring ceremonially adorned horses,” the ministry said in a statement.

At the end of the tour, Jakov Milatović left an entry in the museum's guest book.

Earlier, Qazinform reported the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović visited Maqsut Narikbayev University, where he delivered a lecture and answered questions from students. 

To note, during his historic first official visit to Kazakhstan, President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, tourism, logistics, energy and digital transformation in an exclusive interview with Qazinform News Agency.
