President of Kazakhstan met with residents of Almaty

N. Nazarbayev familiarized with the plan on development of the city, a project of detailed layout of Nauryzbai district, a project on development of the North belt, a new program on development of the public transport, a project on launch of electronic tickets and the "Eco taxi' project.

"Every year I come to Almaty. This is the biggest and the most beautiful city in Kazakhstan. Everybody loves Almaty. Almaty will never be left without attention of the government. Today, we opened two subway stations - "Moscow" and "Sairan". The subway of Almaty has already carried 20 million people since its opening in 2011. Every day, 25 thousand people use the subway in Almaty. This environmentally-friendly transport helps people get wherever they need to. It is important to mention ecologically-safe buses and taxis introduced in the city. The main problem of the city is its ecology, it must get better than it is now. In order to do it, we purchase new special buses and use gas instead of petrol in the cars. We also plan to make the center of the city pedestrian. We are now working to make it a reality," the president noted.

The President also told about his visit to the biggest retail and entertainment center of Almaty "Dostyk Plaza". "I made a purchase there and I recommend everyone to buy products there. By that we help our Kazakhstani manufacturers. Our products are always environmentally-safe products," N. Nazarbayev stressed.
