Polling station opens in Azerbaijan

Polling station No.394 for casting ballots in a nationwide referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan opened at 07:00 am local time (08:00 am Astana time) at the Kazakh Embassy in Baku, Azerbaijan, Kazinform News Agency reports.

It is open until 08:00 pm local time.

People aged 18 years old and above temporarily staying or living in Azerbaijan may vote in the referendum. Some 180 Kazakhstanis were registered in Azerbaijan.

The polling station is situated on Rafiyev Str. 14 in Baku.

As earlier reported, polling stations in Seoul and Tokyo were the first to open at 07:00 am local time. Nationals of Kazakhstan in South Korea were the first to cast their ballots in a nationwide referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan.

A worker of an international organization Kamila Mauotova was the first Kazakh citizen in Seoul to vote in the referendum.

74 polling stations were opened at the diplomatic missions of Kazakhstan in 59 countries.

12,244,683 nationals of Kazakhstan are eligible to participate in the vote today.
