Over a third of Kazakhstanis visit neither museums, nor theaters, nor art galleries

Almaty. December 23. KAZINFORM - Russia's DEMOSCOPE Bureau for Express Monitoring of |Public Opinion conducted a survey in Kazakhstan to find out how our people prefer spending free time.

2 000 residents of Astana, Almaty and 14 regional centers were interviewed, of whom 69% were women and 31% - men above 16 years old.
Over a third of respondents (35,1%) do not go to theaters, museums, art galleries and classical music concerts. 32.6% visit them at least once a year. A meager 15.4% of the interviewed go there once a month. Most ardent art lovers live in Pavlodar, one in its three residents visits them more than once a month.
The most preferred art amusement is the theater - 29.2%. It is followed by classical music concerts - 19.1%. 10.8% of respondents visit museums and 5.9% - art galleries.
High ticket prices hamper the better part of Kazakhstanis from visiting culture facilities (22.8%). Most dissatisfied with ticket prices are Petropavlovsk residents. 12.6% would visit them more frequently given bigger variety of cultural events. 10.3% are loth to visit any events.
