Over 2,000 persons with special needs to be employed in Almaty
Persons with special needs in Almaty are offered to undergo qualification upgrading courses and training at the local Labor Mobility Center and improve their professional skills at the Ten Qogam centers, Kazinform News Agency reports.

"2,860 people with special needs applied to the Labor Mobility Center in 2023. 244 of them were provided with constant jobs, 502 were provided with social jobs, and 661 underwent training under Bastau Business program," deputy mayor of the city Assem Nussupova said at the first meeting of the Inclusive Environment Development Council in Almaty.
According to her, 993 people with special needs have applied to the Labor Mobility Center since the year beginning. 533 of them have been covered with employment measures. The Center plans to help at least 2,200 people by the end of 2024.
“Our goal is to stimulate citizens’ self-accomplishment, to let them receive rewards for their work and to improve quality of their life. This will be done through subsidizing at least 70% of wages, as well as through reimbursement of employers’ costs for the purchase and installation of equipment,” she added.
The Labor Mobility Center reimburses the cost of purchase and installment of equipment for special workplaces, which enables the employers to hire people with special needs.
