Over 100 sarcoma patients survive beyond five years in Zhambyl region
183 patients are currently under the medical supervision at the regional oncology center with sarcoma in Zhambyl region, Qazinform News Agency reports.
Of which 107 patients or 58.5% have lived more than five years since their diagnosis — a strong outcome given the aggressive nature of some sarcoma types.
Sarcoma ranks 8th–9th among oncological diseases in the region.
25–30 new cases are registered each year.
29 cases were recorded in 2022, 24 in 2023, 20 in 2024, and 25 in 2025.
16 new patients were diagnosed in the first half of 2026.
