"Currently, over 2.6 million people or one third of the working-age population is employed with the small and medium-sized business. The share of the small and medium-sized business in the GDP of the country makes about 18 percent which is considered as a low indicator. It means that small and medium-sized business doesn't play an important role in the economy of the country and our economy continues to depend on big companies," K. Uskenbayev noted.

The Deputy Minister noted that the share of small and medium-sized business in the GDP tops 50 percent.

According to K. Uskenbayev, in order to increase the role of small and medium-sized business in the economy, the government emphasizes the growth of the number of small and medium-sized entities and increase of their competitiveness.
