Nazarbayev charged to adjust National Security Strategy in light of new challenges

"The environment is rapidly changing. New challenges appear forcing us to change our plans and actions in the future. Methods of influence, information technologies and methods of confrontation have changed. As we can see, constitutional form of government, sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries are influenced by new destructive effects. In this regard, Kazakhstan should be vigilant and considerate," the Head of State said. The President stressed the importance of domestic stability, tolerance and people's confidence.

Aide to the President - Secretary of the Security Council Kairat Kozhamzharov reported on the national security situation and tasks for the period ahead. Nursultan Nazarbayev positively assessed implementation of the National Security Strategy in 2013. Following the results of the meeting the President gave certain tasks. The Security Council will control over their realization.
