Each coin features intricate designs celebrating athletes and the official mascots of the events.

Two types of pure silver coins have been created. One side depicts athletes competing at Paloma Mizuho Stadium in Aichi Prefecture, while the reverse showcases the mascots Honohon and Uzumin, representing the Asian Games and Asian Para Games, respectively.

Aichi governor Hideaki Omura, who chairs the organizing committee said the coins are beautifully crafted and will serve as a lasting legacy, preserving memories of the games for future generations.

The coins measure 40 millimeters in diameter, weigh 31.1 grams, and are priced at 34,800 yen ($220) each. Sales are limited to one per person, with applications accepted by mail or online until June 23, according to the Japan Mint.

The Asian Games will open in Nagoya on September 19, followed by the Asian Para Games on October 18.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that Kazakhstan’s National Bank had issued collector coins for FIFA World Cup 2026.
