Mongolian President to visit Kazakhstan next year
President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh is to pay a visit to Kazakhstan next year, Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu announced during his official visit to Mongolia, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and Mongolia Murat Nurtleu and Battsetseg Batmunkh made a joint statement on the priority areas of Kazakh-Mongolian relations, following bilateral talks. Special attention was placed to cooperation in agriculture, transport and logistics, space industry as well as interaction within international organizations.
In his speech, Kazakh Foreign Minister Nurtleu highlighted that Mongolia is a reliable and strategic partner of Kazakhstan in the region, as both nations have established relations of mutual support and pursue joint work in promising areas.
In recenter years, Astana and Ulaanbaatar have been enjoying political dialogue built on trust and mutual support. It was highlighted that this year marks a year since the two nations established a strategic partnership.
I believe that the aim of my visit to Ulaanbaatar is to provide a new impetus to the high-level agreements reached and give them concrete content, said Nurtleu during a briefing at the Mongolian Foreign Ministry.
Kazakhstan and Mongolia traded goods worth 124 million US dollars last year, with both nations seeking to unravel the untapped potential by raising the figure to up to 500 million US dollars.
Kazakhstan could become a strategic gateway to Central Asia and Europe, while Mongolia could serve as an alternative route for Kazakhstan to access markets of Northeast Asia, said the Kazakh Foreign Minister.
It was highlighted that the sides also agreed to boost cooperation in agriculture, digital government, humanitarian and cultural sphere, education and science.
During the meeting, the initiative to open a branch of one of the leading universities of Kazakhstan in Mongolia was announced as well.
We also discussed cooperation prospects in the field of security and defense. Kazakhstan is ready to supply modern types of military equipment, which meet European standards, to Mongolia, said Nurtleu.
The Kazakh Foreign Minister also informed about Kazakhstan’s readiness to share experiences in the implementation of the e-government platform as well as training specialists in space exploration.
Nurtleu reiterated Kazakhstan’s continuous mutual support of Mongolia in the international arena, including within the UN and other multilateral organizations, as well as joint promotion of common initiatives.
As reported previously, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is set to visit Belarus to participate in a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and Eurasian Economic Forum
