Midjourney unveils 60-second full-body scanner
Artificial intelligence company Midjourney has announced a major move into healthcare, unveiling a new division called Midjourney Medical and plans to develop a rapid full-body scanning technology, Qazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
The company said it is building a system known as "Ultrasonic CT," which uses sound waves and water to create detailed images of the human body. According to Midjourney, the technology could produce whole-body scans in as little as 60 seconds without radiation or the strong magnetic fields used in MRI machines.
The proposed scanner would work by lowering a person into a pool of water while a ring of sensors sends ultrasonic waves through the body from multiple angles. The data collected would then be processed by large-scale computing systems to generate detailed three-dimensional images of internal structures.

Midjourney believes the technology could eventually make medical imaging faster, more accessible and more frequent, allowing people to track changes in their health over time and identify potential issues earlier.
Alongside the scanner, the company plans to launch the first "Midjourney Spa" in San Francisco by the end of 2027. The facility is expected to combine wellness services such as hot tubs, saunas and cold plunges with health scanning technology.

Looking further ahead, Midjourney aims to deploy more than 50,000 scanners worldwide by 2031, with a target capacity of up to one billion full-body scans per month.
The company noted that it is independently funded and plans to involve its community in shaping the development of the new healthcare initiative.
Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that brain scans revealed new clues about autism and social bonds.
