Man detained in Almaty airport with undeclared currency

ALMATY. KAZINFORM. - A citizen of Kazakhstan has been detained at Almaty International Airport with significant amount of undeclared hard currency, according to the city Department of Customs Control.
"Zhetysu" customs post officers informed that the man was apprehended at Almaty International Airport after customs officers found USD 30.000 in his hand-luggage. While boarding the flight Almaty-Dubai the man did not make a declaration about the money he was carrying. Investigations have been launched into a suspected attempt to illegally transfer hard currency. Upon the fact criminal case has been started under article 209 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
