Majilis speaker Koshanov meets with Tatar leadership
As part of his working part to Russia, Kazakh Majilis Speaker Yerlan Koshanov visited Kazan city, where met with Tatar Head Rustam Minnikhanov and Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the lower chamber of the Kazakh parliament.
While at the meeting with Rustam Minnikhanov, Koshanov conveyed the warm greetings from Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The Kazakh Majilis speaker stressed that Tatarstan is one of the top industrial regions of Russia and an important partner of Kazakhstan, with companies as Tatneft, TEMPO, KAMAZ and so on launching their production facilities in Kazakhstan.
The sides also discussed the possibility for expanding cooperation in the field of high technologies.
For his part, the Tatar President spoke warmly about the meetings with the Kazakh Hed of State, noting the historic, cultural and spiritual closeness of Kazakh and Tatar peoples. He proposed bringing together the potential of IT parks of the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov with gratitude accepted the invitation of the Kazakh leadership to the 5th World Nomad Games to take place in Astana this year.
During the meeting with Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin, the Majilis speaker spoke about the law-making work of the Kazakhstani deputies. He also congratulated his colleagues on 30 years since the establishment of the State Council and wished further success for the benefit of the Tatar people.
Today, the cross-region cooperation is the foundation of Kazakh-Russian relations. Kazakhstan actively develops trade and economic relations with 76 out of 89 subjects of Russia, with Tatarstan taking the leading place, said Koshanov.
The meeting also focused on the cultural and education cooperation between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan.
On his part, Minnikhanov called for strengthening mutual cultural and tourist ties. He stressed the importance of regular dialogue between parliamentarians to address practical issues and carry out concrete projects.
As part of the official visit, the Majilis delegation visited the Kazan Kremlin, familiarized with the projects of the Bashir Rameev IT park, computer programming school School 21 and production sites of the Innovation Industrial Park ‘Technopolis Khimgrad’.
